Sri Swami Shuddhananda

Swami Dayananda Ashram
Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India

swamisuddhananda1The majority of the people are like birds flying in the sky leaving behind no trace of their footprints. But, one in a billion, bestrides the worldly stage like a Colossus leaving indelible marks of his sacred sojourn on the earth. Swami Dayanandaji was indeed such a Spiritual Giant!

In 1963, when I was the manager of Andhra Ashram, Swami Dayanandaji arrived and I was blessed enough to offer accommodation to him who was a brahma-niṣṭhā,

Swami Viditatmananda

Swami ViditatmanandaEverybody knows that Pujya Swamiji was a teacher, but now we can share our personal experiences of how he was as a person. Pujya Swamiji is a many-dimensional great person. As I talked to different people I found how in so many different ways he has touched people. He was a teacher, of course, par excellence, but he was also a highly talented person. We could see his depths of knowledge and understanding in many different fields.

Swami Paramarthananda

swamiparamarthanandaIn Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, Swamiji designed the curriculum and conducted two courses – 1972-1975 and 1976-1979. I was fortunate to be in the second course. Even though the original purpose was to study the scriptures and propagate it by giving discourses, Swamiji felt that the full impact of the study may not be there because the study will be only for the sake of giving lectures. Therefore, Swamiji made a very important shift in his approach,

I’m reminded of the verse in the Bhagavad Gītā where Lord Krishna tells Arjuna, for that which is born, death is certain, and for that which has come to an end,

Swami Tattvavidananda

SwamiTV2Many people have spoken wonderful things about Pujya Swamiji. However much we speak, it is like touching the tip of an iceberg. His contribution will be celebrated by the society for decades or even centuries to come. In India, great organizations like Rashtriya Seva Samiti and Vishwa Hindu Parishad have been working for the society for decades – RSS from 1925 and VHP from 1967.

Yet, they have benefited immensely by the contributions of Pujya Swamiji.

Swamini Ramananda

swaminiramanandaSwami Dayanandaji has certainly been an inspiration to me and to all who have come in contact with him. Most people cannot help but be deeply changed after being exposed to Swami Dayananda’s clear unfolding of the ancient Vedic texts. The global influence of Swamiji is remarkable. Over the years students from many countries, including USA and India, attended the residential courses – Japan, China, Russia, South American countries, Nordic countries, Israel, New Zealand,

Swamini Vilasananda

swaminivilasanandaIn 2013, I came to see Pujya Swamiji and asked him for a message to take back to the Argentine students. He said, “I am really satisfied that you have enough number of Arsha Vidya teachers in Argentina to keep you all busy with the study of Vedanta. Vedanta study never ends. It has to be kept going. You can never take for granted that ‘I have already studied this’. You have to keep studying,
